‘Is Anyone Even Watching?’ at Arts House

‘Is Anyone Even Watching?’ is a joyous new work by Olivia Muscat that challenges beauty standards, ableist stereotypes, and societal expectations.

Through spooky stories, spilled secrets, make-overs and super cool dance routines, Is Anyone Even Watching? presents a celebration of identity and not being afraid to be you.

From theatre-kid fever dreams to everyday discrimination, Is Anyone Even Watching? explores a new perspective on the classic coming of age story, offering a glimpse into the melodramas and memories of a tween girl growing up in suburban Australia.

Proudly produced by Loom Arts and Management, and presented by Arts House Melbourne as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival’s Radical Access Program.

Showing October 8 – 12 at Arts House in North Melbourne. All shows are audio described and have pre- show access tours available.

More information and tickets can be booked HERE.

This project has been supported by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.

A colorful Y2K inspired collage featuring a young woman wearing a sparkly pink sequin jacket, a white t-shirt with a blue lace top over it, and a white belt. She has dark wavy hair with blonde highlights and some bright metallic hair extensions. There are several small, plastic butterfly clips in her hair in opaque purple, blue and pink.
Photographs of the woman appear multiple times across the collage in different poses: smiling, holding a hairbrush as a microphone and singing, adjusting her oversized, blue- tinted glasses, as well as looking thoughtful whilst holding a pen with a fluffy pink top to her chin and looking down at a fluffy pink diary.
The background is a mix of pastel blue and grid paper, with colorful stickers and hand-drawn elements adding to a fun, teenage scrapbook vibe.
