Chance Paintings by Matthew Simpson

Chance Paintings, Matthew Simpson’s latest exhibition, opens Thursday the 9th of May at One star Lounge and Gallery. The exhibition features new paintings of randomly arranged lines. The paintings have random titles of geological features that are not represented by the contents of the painting. Chance and intuition play a prominent role in their creation.

Join us from 6pm Thursday May 9, at One Star Gallery for the exhibition opening party. Matthew’s show continues until May 26.

One Star Lounge and Gallery, 301-303 Victoria St, West Melbourne VIC. Gallery hours- Wednesday- Friday 3-7pm. Saturday 1-7pm.

The image shows an abstract painting. The painting is composed of a chaotic mix of colors and lines. The dominant colors are red, yellow, blue and purple with thick intersecting lines creating a web- like pattern. The lines are painted in various directions, overlapping each other, and there are lines of bright yellow that stand out against the rest of the colors.
