Striated Paintings by Matthew Simpson at Schoolhouse Studios

Striated Paintings features recent paintings of randomly accrued lines. Striated means marked with long, thin parallel streaks, or technically, marked with striae. The titles of the paintings are all geological features.

Matthew Simpson is a Yarraville-based artist with a hidden disability who lives and works on the sovereign, unceded lands of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. He has painted for many years, primarily exploring the visual element of line.

Opening Night Thursday 19th October 2023 from 6-8pm at Schoolhouse Studios 28 Victoria St Coburg, Victoria 3058. Exhibition runs until 26th October. Gallery hours- Monday- Saturday 11am- 4pm.
